Addleshaw Goddard Law Firm.

addleshaw goddard recently lost its amazing reputation and notwithstanding that addleshaw goddard now faces criminal charges involving perverting the course of justice, forgery, conspiracy to defraud and an abuse of process quite soon. this means the outcome will certainly involve addleshaw goddard coming under the public spotlight and all that follows.

addleshaw goddard's good name at risk

Addleshaw Goddard’s most precious asset is their good name but unfortunately due to their Leeds based legal team they are gradually starting to lose it, thanks to this site and many others spead around the Internet. This is mainly due to their Leeds based law firm's failed application at trial for the court to order their removal. However more recently, the shortsightedness of the four senior partners Andrew Johnston, Aster Crawshaw, David Kirchin and Steve Mackie seem to think that profit is more important than one’s good name has triggered the 85 year old into publishing even more factually based networks publicising Addleshaw Goddard's unlawful tactics.

Managing Partner, Andrew Johnston recently stated “Thank you to everyone at AG for the hard work, dedication and expertise that define our firm”. Clearly he wasn’t aware at that juncture just how far down the slippery slope the fall from grace was going to be. It is probably the first time in his law firm’s illustrious history that an 85 year old litigant has absolutely trounced them in court. It was also particularly galling for their client, publically quoted company Daniel Thwaites Plc because its directors and main shareholders the Yerburgh family could never have imagined in their worst nightmares that such an eminent law firm would lose so spectacularly in the said circumstances.

In August 2023 Addleshaw Goddard agreed to represent Daniel Thwaites Plc the claimant against Web4orce Limited the defendant a one man company that was represented by their only employee John Duggan an 85 year old litigant in person, simply because this one man company could not afford the likes of Addleshaw Goddard's extortionate costs.

At the outset the claimant’s main witness Richard Bailey lied a couple of times on oath in his first statement of truth. The defendant’s only witness John Duggan challenged both lies in his first statement of truth and the claimant’s main witness in his second statement of truth admitted he lied once but took great exception to the second allegation.

From that point on things went downhill for the claimant and when it eventually went to trial in November 2024 the claim was dismissed. However that wasn’t the only bad news for the claimant as it later transpired their law firm, Addleshaw Goddard had incriminated themselves in pre-trial events and what’s even worse their lawyers were also in abuse of process on more than one occasion.

Addleshaw Goddard Good Name, bad experience

Pros - Having AG on your CV can open up a lot of doors in the industry
Cons - As a paralegal, your line manager is unqualified and rarely has a detailed enough knowledge of the work you undertake to provide you with relevant guidance. Paralegals are often used as mass admin for projects rather than given opportunities to gain knowledge.

Addleshaw Goddard lack of appreciation.

Pros - Good location but other than that, nothing
Cons - Lack of appreciation from the colleagues we completed work for and the Firm itself. No where to progress as other roles that you could progress into don't become available for years. Certain departments are rude. Made to feel excluded from everyone else and made to feel below everyone else.

Addleshaw Goddard would not recommend!

Pros - Good environment, Excellent offices, Good benefits (Healthcare, Gym, Pension)
Cons - Bullying is rife within the IT department with a finger pointing mentality. Minimal collaboration across teams with a focus on single "heroes" to deliver tasks or fix issues who are then continually publicly lauded.

Addleshaw Goddard deeply unpleasant place to work.

Pros - Some genuinely interesting work if you're in the right place at the right time. Generally a nice bunch of co-workers
Cons - 1) 18k is the starting salary and is the salary you will likely stay on regardless of performance or billable hours. 2) senior paralegals typically earn around 22K and there is no clear progression route to get there. 3) Bonuses - don't be silly. you'd be lucky to get a few 100 whilst your friends in other industries are getting 10% bonuses and pay rises.

Cons - Extremely high pressure and little training making the job very stressful, unrealistic targets, hierarchical culture, little reward or recognition for your work, very underpaid paralegals with absolutely no guarantee or encouragement of progression.

Addleshaw Goddard badly run

Pros - Does have nice people but they all seem to be leaving
Cons - Becoming a toxic place to work. Used to be flat structured across business services but now very hierarchical and just unpleasant. Passive aggressive HR clearly not there to support employees just management.
